Elizabeth (El) Carlisle (she/her) is a PhD student at American University in the Department of Justice, Law & Criminology. She received her B.A. in Criminology, Law & Society, Film & Media Studies, and Religious Studies at the University of California, Irvine, and her M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies at New York University where she focused in International Relations, Politics, Anthropology, and Sociology. Her research interests focus in sex work, gender and sex-based violence, and domestic extremism within the intersections of masculinity, race, religious fundamentalism, and sports.
